UCLA is both the most applied-to university in the nation and a health care provider (UCLA Health) that ranks as one of the top three hospitals in the nation, with 150 primary care and specialty care offices that receive nearly two million patient visits annually. Enrollment at the University is over 43,000, with 4,300 faculty members.

The UCLA Document Services department has provided data center printing since assuming the responsibility in 1996, printing transactional, informational and financial documents, checks and offering mailing services. UCLA uses a combination of RSA's standard software (i.e. M.I.S. Print, QDirect) and custom software and recently added WebCRD Web to print for print to support the printing needs of the campus and print on demand work for UCLA Health.

After transitioning from analog to digital, UCLA Mail, Document & Distribution Services team of 12 now handles applications as varied as claims processing, high-volume transactional HIPAA- and PHI-compliant jobs and course packs, producing 15 million print impressions annually.

Michel VanLancker, Associate Director, UCLA Mail, Document & Distribution Services, presents an In-Plant Graphics webinar, titled: "UCLA: Harnessing Digital Workflow." VanLancker discusses how UCLA's in-plant harnesses the power of digital workflow to win new business and capture, manage and print from a variety of sources and file types to multiple printers and destinations.

Moderated by In-plant Graphics' Editor Bob Neubauer, this webinar, sponsored by Rochester Software Associates, highlights how an in-plant can continually evolve and utilize digital workflow to remai n relevant, retain volume and insource business. Viewers will learn how digital workflow can:

  • Simplify work and increase efficiencies for the print center and its customers
